HI THERE,

This is my first post on the forum, I have been advised to come to this forum by a friend who said you may be able to help out.

Basically, I am purchasing a property which has a 6X6 Series 3 Stage 1 V8 in one of the outbuildings. I have a few pics of it, and I know its a Stage 1 Series 3 V8 but thats about it, it was used by Southern Electricity who i originally used it.

If anyone could confirm exactly what it possibly maybe, is it a Sandringham 6? Please find pictures attached (I hope).

Any resposes are greatly appreciated. Regards, Will.

Thats a nice one :) Is there a plate somewhere on it that says who the conversion was done by?

Thanks for the prompt replies.

I am not sure I am afraid and won't be able to view the landy again for another few weeks, so its just these pictures i have got at the moment..

Conversion was done by Hotspur. Are you sure it's a stage 1 and not an early 110? stage 1 had 4speed gearbox. 110 has 5 speed lt77 box.

Redhand - I am not 100% sure its a stage 1 V8, this was what a friend of mine who deals with series land rovers thought it may have been. Have you any more information of what it is/could be? THankyou

It's prob 1 of these on ere. Electricity Board Land-Rovers (I love Google)

A reg was the year that 110's started production. stage1 were phased out 1985 So it could be either.
stage 1 's have a vacumm operated difflock with lever coming thru front of seatbox 110's have a lever operated difflock. on top of transmission tunnel

Wow thanks for all the info guys!

Redhand - thanks for the link, i spent a long time googling and must have been typing in the wrong things!

Does anybody know what sort of value it could be worth..? I'm not sure whether to keep it or sell it to somebody who would apperciate it more and buy myself some bits for my tractor (log splitter + tipping trailer)!!!

Leaf or coils is the easy sign.
Because of their train weight they had to be based on stage 1s

It has the split screen as well, I don't think early defenders had that feature, I could be mistaken though
