I now have a L322, TD6 54 plate, have replaced the front hub and suspension arms, but the hub I have bought has a green socket now plugged into a blue plug, does this make any difference ? it was a blue socket from the abs sensor in old one is it the right one ? as I am getting a lot of knocking from that side now i have replaces the drive shaft that side but still loads of knocking, bearing seems ok ???

The rear most front suspension arms are good at knockng even from new.
Too soft on the bushings but also the ball joint mounted on the hub carrier and front arm.
Anti roll bar drop links over small slow bumps will reveal themselves .

Same - I just replaced the front arm for MoT and cured a knock. Also check all the joints both sides because as said before a small movement can easily translate into a knock across the steering system.
Tricky :)

it is the drop links, ordered two more today, as for the ABS sensor, the green one is for the BMW engine and will not work on this car, got a brand new one (blue) and all problems gone, who would of thought it, but obviously kept bringing on brakes as detected that the two fronts were a vast difference in rotation, or so the diagnostic box says.

Now to change the engine cradle without dropping the engine
