4x4 Response Wales Recruitment Evening - Cwmbran

4x4 Response Wales will be holding a recruitment and information evening at The Three Blackbirds, Llantarnam, Cwmbran, NP44 3AY (OS Grid Ref ST301 924) on 4th March at 7:30pm. The evening is aimed at any 4x4 owners willing to make themselves and their vehicles available to the Emergency Planning Service during severe adverse weather and/or local emergency.

The Group was kept very busy across Wales in the recent heavy snow undertaking over 100 callouts in support of Emergency Services, Hospitals, and Social Care.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the Group will be welcome to attend the Cwmbran meeting or alternatively go to www.4x4responsewales.org <http://www.4x4responsewales.org/> . It is proposed to hold a monthly meeting in the area once a core local group is formed.

4x4 Response Wales organises regular training events in Off Road Driving, Recovery Techniques, Communications and Navigation. Membership presents an ideal opportunity for 4x4 owners to learn to drive their vehicle safely off road and in adverse conditions and also to support their communities in times of need.

4x4 Response Wales is a registered charity offering logistical support to Emergency Planning Officers and Emergency Services during times of severe weather and other local emergency. The Group organises regular training and assessment weekends across Wales to prepare their volunteers and vehicles and to ensure that members can provide a high quality service when required.

My view on this is well documented

Nowt to do with this, but is the place the meeting is at pronounced Qwimbran?

I always find myself struggling to read anything when a welsh place is mentioned!!

The fact that they use the word Wales in their name implies that they cover all of Wales. Cwmbran's a ****in long way from say Rhyl, or Aberdaron, or Llangollen. So wouldn't a more central location make more sense? Or dare I sugest that the use of the word "Wales" is somewhat misleading, as usual in the case of southern taffies completely unaware of the existence of North Wales.

No not miss leading, this is a meeting for that local area. There is a meeting a lot closer to you in Llandudno once a month.

Oh cool. I know where to steer clear of now then:D (Llandudno is the capital of north wales as far as the elderly are concerned btw)
