Hi, does anyone know where I can get a 45 or 50mm LPG mixer for a hotwire plenum (73mm outside diameter) . I tried iwema but they didn't reply to my email.
 
I put a BLOS carb on my inlet plenum, gave up with restrictive mixer plates.

Found the blos on eBay a couple of days ago. Tinley tech have them too but more expensive but they do sell those neat silicone hoses as well.

Been running it long?
Does it seem to run well all the way through the rev range?
 
Sorry for the late reply to your question, I've been running it about 6 months now, so far all good. It runs much better through the rev range than the previous mixer plates that I had, which seemed to give rough idle, and lean at higher throttle.
 
I've been thinking of fitting this sort of set up to my twin SU 3.5.
Is there any manifold available so that I can just run one BLOS carb? Or will I just have to buy two of everything?
My petrol pump gave up some time ago so I have been running my motor purely on LPG for ages, what's cold start up like on these carbs?

It may be easier to fit an efi inlet rather than cobble together a y piece. On the other hand two BLOS carbs would work perfectly.

cold starting is not an issue.
 
I have an EFI inlet but none of the electronics. Therefore if I fit that to the engine I will be without dual fuel possibilities.
I might fit it just to try one of these out, then decide how to proceed if I like it. Anything is better than SU's with mixers.
 
I'm about to fit two of these blos mixers to my twin su 3.5.
Are there any adjustments that need to be made to the lpg system apart from the removal of the mixer plates? I will be setting up the blos mixers per instructions but the reducer, power valve etc?

Out of curiosity - why two?
 
Made sure it didn't feel lean and took it to mot tester. With su, you should check carbs are balanced too but I'd still worry about them flowing equal LPG. Using 1 blos would be more straightforward. Its ages since I used su but don't they have elbows joining to a shared filter housing, and could you fab onto this or have these been binned in favour of k&n
 
There are two U shaped pipes that run to a metal junction to the air filter, but I fear this is too far downstream of the carbs to be efficient.
I am going to use a 90* elbow pipe to the mouth of the carb with the blos on the end of it. This should allow it to react quickly to the demands from the engine.
I'm just trying to get this system up and running for the moment, after all I can't take it to a rolling road or garage with a gas analyser if it isn't running, can I?
