My Rangey is approaching 75k miles and will be due a service.

As it has full main dealer service history I thought I would bite the bullet and keep this up. Any ideas of costs that I can expect for this interval and is it a biggie?

Many thanks

Open your wallet, leave it at the desk and be prepared for being totally financially taken up the rear...

TBH if your car is now out of warranty, I would find a good indie RR/LR specialist instead of a stealer. Dealer FSH is meaningless except for those old school who also believe that a low mileage car is going to be in better mechanical condition than a higher mileage one that's just done motorway miles.

What is more important is a regular and comprehensive service record, no matter where from.

FWIW, I have never had a good experience of ANY of my local dealers. The last joker told me I had to replace the ABS ECU at a cost of £1000+!! I went and opened the ECU cover and spotted some corrosion on a spike, removed it and everything back to normal. They obviously hadn't touched a sausage during their "inspection/test". Strangely enough they wouldn't let me be present when they did the "inspection". Wonder why??

Also an indie will charge c.£50/hr as opposed to over a £100+ for doing nothing different.

I have only taken my ownership on an L322 (one 4 years then one 2 years) to a main dealer once and that was for a recall. The following day I had a burst brake pipe and of course it was not Stratsone's fault!!. I take mine to a small independent at £35 an hour and often I can phone him to get the part in and then he does it by arrangement while I wait or go for a coffee. My Defender tdci has had a recall recently but I have quietly ignored it.

Make sure that the gearbox oil and filter are changed, the dealers don't bother:rolleyes:
