I’m viewing a 4.2 Supercharged L322 at the weekend. I’ve had Classics and P38’s but never one of these. It’s got a decent service and MOT history but is there anything specific I should be looking for? Any advice appreciated. Thanks
Rotten rear arches and rear sub frame there a car killer, the engine is bomb proof but check the supercharger I'm about to replace the sc bearings and coupler
Don't know about the engine, but body wise, rear arches, sills, especially if full length steps/runners have been fitted front and rear sub frames, rear door.
Then check every. single. thing. works. Be anal about it

Hi bigray, I agree with all the above, especially the advice to check everything works. Everything on an L322 will be expensive to replace even doing the work yourself parts can command a high price at the breakers yard too.
Be warned the SC 400hp is an addictive machine, I’m on my second and even at 14mpg in town and 26 mpg on a run, I can’t imagine ever having a diesel but the time may come!
buy the very best you can afford and be advised a 4.2 registered before Jan 2006 is the lower £380 road tax everything above is nearly £600 I believe.
Lastly, wheels and tyres, avoid any that aren’t original equipment as they usually suffer cracks under the weight and tyres on 20” or 22” rims aren’t cheap so check even wear. The rears can be adjusted but might be so tight you have to replace parts to get the job done. I’m lucky mine runs all four completely square so don’t accept any dodgy explanations about feathering being normal.
Good luck, be sure to ask again if you need anything else from us and send pictures when you’re hooked.
