Evening all,

I've fitted my engine back onto my rolling chassis and starting to drop the body on, but in the process of dismantling, I disconnected a few plugs. When I dismantled it, I left the drivers side loom attached to the engine and fed it through the bulkhead, however the passenger side loom I disconnected from the engine.

How can I figure out where these connect back up? There is some stuff still attached to the body under the bonnet and I can see where a couple plug back in but not the rest of them.

I do have the Haynes manual with the wiring diagrams in but I don't fully understand them. If anyone could help that would be great, cheers!

Hi, unfortunately the D1's have very human unfriendly diagrams and those from Haynes are a nightmare, download this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ejqzp07ih...ting Manual (LRL0077ENG 4th Edition).pdf?dl=0 , go to "harness routing" and try to figure out which plugs are unconnected, as i suspect it's about C212, 227, 2082 part of the engine harness on the left side then go to "connectors" and see theyr's images and pinout with wire colours as to not confuse them, maybe this way you'll manage, if no joy take a close pic from the connectors you can't identify, post them here and i'll try to help you

Have fun and Good luck .. ;)

One point, on my '97 Disco 300 there were a lot of 'redundant' wires, ie they ended in a connection without going to an accessory or anywhere really. This was done on purpose for things like better spec' vehicles .. So mine was basic 3 door, manual window winders and wing mirrors .. I upgraded bits as they broke so by the end I had full electrics including headlight movers for towing, adjustable mirrors, 'leccy windows (well, one of 'em) and lots of other stuff I can't recall!
