Hi.
I think I may have found where all my oil is going. Removed the rocker cover today and 7 out of 8 of my valve stem seals are no longer in contact with the head but are up near the top of the valve stem.
Either I didn't fit these correctly when I did my head gasket or using Britpart replacements has come back to bite me. When I fitted them they seemed quite snug but obviously they were not tight enough.
I need to replace the seals but really don't fancy taking the head off again if at all possible. Is there anyway of replacing them without removing the head on a 300TDI??
Should I buy a different make seal next time or are Britpart ones OK??
Thanks.

make sure you only do the 2 pistons at tdc ,you can get a lever tool which compresses springs whilst head still in place try etc8663g

Thanks for that. Can the tool be bought or does it need to be made? Can't find anything like that in the usual places

How do I check if cylinders are at TDC. I know that cyl 1 has marks on the casting but what about the other 3?
