Hello all, my wonderful Disco decided to snap a cambelt at the weekend, just looking at kits and there are options for an earlier or a later kit.....my disco was previously a 2.0l petrol so the reg or chassis number are useless and I have no idea what engine they have put in.
I have narrowed it down to being a 21L engine. but can anyone tell me if this is the later or newer and whether I need the flat tensioner or lipped tensioner? thanks in advance

2L petrol in a disco ???

Edited version...…...
You have a 300tdi engine. The lipped one is the uprated one to stop the belt from slipping off. :)

Oh aye the MPI engine id heard about them years ago but never seen one. ;)

Aye the MPI 49 left registered the last i checked.

I saw one on Bgay and almost snagged it for £300 it was transparent though, rot!

They were going to Turbo the 2.0 engine but when they did it with a few prototypes it would spin the 4 wheels. ;)

I would love one ;)

Thought it was only the 300Tdi that had that problem and it was solved with a upgraded pulley kit, they should all have been done by now shirley?
 
Or the Rover T-Series if ya want to be pedantic ;)

Like all LR engines it was grossly detuned.

It would see 200hp quite easily ;)

Think she has a 200 now instead of the petroleum engine. I thought the same as you tho.;)
