Hi everyone, my first post on the forum hoping to get some help!

I'm currently rebuilding a Series 2A and have fitted a 300tdi which I completley rebuilt, I started it for the first time the other day and only ran it for a couple of minutes or so, the today I have started it again to run it in using the Millers running in oil. It started first time and moved fine out of the garage into fresh air. I was running it slowly upping the load and after about 5 minutes of running there was a ca-put and it stopped. It was at about 1/4 throttle, running nicely and no smoke came out when it stopped. Now it wont start again and it only seems to be the starter turning over, occasionally it does sort of try to fire. I've taken out a glow plug and there's fuel on it, there's no oil in the water or visa versa. I'm just out to check the compression but if any one has any ideas what it might be they would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks!

Josh

Hi, sorry been busy moving house as well! It was the belt but my fault as I must have not torqued the am gear bolts up quite enough (was sure I had as I was following the overhaul manual throughout the rebuild :( ) So time for a new belt and plenty of thread lock this time I think and some pushrods as a few have bent! Luckily theres no damage inside! Many thanks for your help! Hopefully i can get some pics of the build up at some point too.

Bad luck mate, check the rockers for damage too. You don't need plenty of thread lock just a spot will do the trick. ;)
