Hi all

I have just purchased a new (well 2nd hand) rear bumper for my disco as the old one was broken and rusted etc.
does any 1 know how to get it off and is it easy - i have a towbar as well

it's bolted on and if the bolts are ****ed either oxy them off or the other option is use welder to burn them out
 
Try penetrating oil on the fixings first - be generous, and leave it longer than you thought, overnight for example, if that fails then its resorting to heat as Fanatic says and/or hacksaw or grinder if you can get access.
Top tip if you have a decent spanner or socket which fits well - lengthen the "arm" and increase the leverage with a short length of scaffold pole ( one end on the nut, other end inside the scaffold pole) - works a treat to crack off fixings which have had rust loosened with penetrating oil.
Watch your knuckles though - you might be off piano practice for a week................
 
Take the lights out of the bumper you will see some bolts heads (2 each side I seem to remember) undo them then your bumper will drop off.
 
Managed to do it alst night. Boyfriend ended up taking a steel saw to lol but it worked.
