Hey All

I have a 94 Defender 90 that has recently had a new chassis, bulkhead, rear crossmember and all the other bits

Unfortunately - Synchro has 100% gone. Its liveable, but a bit annoying.

I’ve not decided whether to buy a recon box, or have the Synchro repaired in my current one. Could anyone recommend anywhere in Glasgow/West that would take either a repair or replacement on?

Contact Winchester Gears, you will have to ship the box to them, but i highly rate/reccommend them.

Another vote here for Ashcroft, they have reconned both my box gearbox and transfer box several times. Last time I used them I dropped it into them (local enough for me to do that) and it was delivered back to me a week later.

The reason they have done mine several times is from the mileage I do (currently on 418k) not though any fault of theirs. A recon box lasts me 80-120k miles which from my research is about right and possible at the higher end for an lt77 box.
