I am a little stuck folks, so if I could pick your brains it would be appreciated.

I have replaced the 2.5 n/a engine with a 200tdi engine. I want to use a 300tdi fuel filter and housing but I am buggered if I can figure out how to plumb it all together?

The pipework from the 2.5 n/a still runs from the tank. I started working back from the injector pump plumbing it all in but by the time I got to the fuel filter there was nowhere left to put the main feed from the tank in or the return to the tank to. Obviously I have done something completely wrong so any advice amongst the mickey taking would be appreciated.







 
If the 200tdi filter housing is the same (I think it is) then I can look at mine for you but won't be until around 9am tomorrow morning.
 
Hi min Can you get a picy of the back of the pump ? it's that bizzzzy in there that I can't make head nor tail of the jungle of pipes & wires ! LOL

The fuel in goes: tank to lift pump, lift pump to filter, filter to injection pump. The return line is direct from the injection pump to the tank. Have a look at the Glencoyne TDi conversion pages. You'll likely need two bits of 8mm internal diameter fuel line and four hose clips to join to the new engine. I'm just about to do this over the weekend, I'll take some photos and share them if you need.

OK then thanks to your help yet again I think I have it sorted so will put everything in the right place tomorrow!
 
It's dead easy. I did it myself a few years ago. First of all, rip out any existing hose and keep the end fittings. Buy yourself some new 8mm internal diameter fuel hose for feed and 6mm for return. Start working systematically from the tank to the pump (i.e. tank to lift pump, lift pump to filter, filter to FIP. Use the end fittings you removed from the old hoses and secure them with some lovely, shiny new hose clips. Then plumb the return from the FIP back to the tank. Tidy it all up, use a few cable ties and some P-clips to keep everything in order.
