Hi Folks,
Great to be back, had to sell my old 90 but have now got an 1995 110 300tdi.

The fanbelt tensioner bearing is screaming its head off, I have never removed one of this type, there is a nut holding the tensioner th the block but how do I slacken off the tension so as to remove and replace the bearing, also if you know what is the proccess of re tightening the belt.

Haynes manual doesnt go into it much, unless I missed a page.

On my 97 TDi i put a ring spanner on tensioner pulley retaining bolt and turn the spanner. It's a spring loaded tensioner on mine and hopefully it's the same on yours so should self tension when you release it.
