The tensioner on my 300tdi will need replacing soon. I have noticed the Dayco which is stated as OEM and aftermarket makes. Is there any difference between the two?

I was going to order the Dayco but one is under £20, the other (the Dayco) over double that. Is the Dayco a better item or is there little difference?

Your experiences please folks.

I originally had a Dayco fitted but was trying to chase the source of a squeaking noise. I replaced it with another unbranded one which had more play in it and made the noise worse. I sent that back and they sent me a far better oem spec one at no extra cost and the quality was leaps ahead of the unbranded crap. If you can afford Dayco or oem then go for that

Many thanks for your help. I don't mind paying for quality when there is a difference in the product, but think it is a waste if the only difference is the name!
