Hi all - your help if may please. I'm going to fit a battery isolator as a further security layer to the 300 soon and need a little extra cable to go from it back to the battery. My question is what is the amp rating of the cable that runs from battery to starter? I don't want to just chop the existing as I'm planning on hiding it (well, as much as you can 'hide' an isolator) :) - Cheers in advance for any help

I've got a length of cable that runs from the battery to the starter motor off a discovery I've just had the engine out of PM me your address and you can have it if you want it, I won't be able to post it til Monday though as I'm working every day until then

Normal place for the isolator switch is on the front of the passenger seatbox adjacent to the tunnel, hidden from prying eyes yet is within reach of the driver. The other advantage is that the cable-run is barely any longer than normal so voltage-drop is minimised.

Fit the FIA isolator which kills the engine & protects the alternator as well, only slightly more expensive than the normal on/off type but far better.

Excellent - Thank you all very much

Marmaduke - you're a star and have a PM Sir

Litch - Thank you - Didn't know of that type - an FIA one it is then
