Hello,

I have a 1997 Discovery 300tdi auto with EDC. The check engine light came on last week and it has gone into limp home. I got it checked over and diagnosed at my independent Landy garage and they diagnosed a faulty injector needle lift sensor, which is basically the 4th injector with the wire coming out of the top.

I have searched everywhere to be told this part is now obslete even from Bosch, Paddocks, Craddocks etc

My question is does anybody have a set of injectors to fit my landy or know who still stocks them, the part number for the injector is ERR3337

Thanks in advance!

hi pal if ur interested in a second hand one i know a bloke who has one that was running fine when dismantled pm if interested

I've had a quick look on the web and they don't seem to be available anywhere. This is rather worrying for a comparitively recent vehicle. Maybe the RAVE catalogue has a newer number?

Chris.

Hi all,
Not sure if this will help but i've got a thread going on the MG-ROVER forum and it would seem that it may be possible to use thte needle lift sensor injector from a rover SDI or Freelander but have the injector rebuilt with the 300tdi injector internals.
The thread is here:

landy 300 tdi injectors - MG-Rover.org Forums

Got to ask, are there any EDC injectors out there.
I need one to rebuild but can not afford to have disco off road.
Will give the person my old one as replacement.

Wolseley1800,
As far as i'm aware injectors 1-3 are standard 300tdi injectors its only injector 4 with the needle lift sensor wire that is unique to the EDC engine and as before you may be able to use the injector body from a rover sdi or freelander and have it rebuilt with 300tdi internals.

Cheers
Andy

The EDC injectors are different to standard 300tdi. The difference is the lift. 0.4mm on the EDC and 1.5 on the standard.

I have fitted 3 standard and the power increase is brill. I can actually accelerate and in an auto - out dragged a transit.

I am looking into solving injector issues on my 1997 Discovery TDI 300 EDC
Since the Electronic injector doesnt seem to be on the marker, I have turned to looking at replacing only the nozzles. I was under the impression that they are the same as the non EDC TDI 300s.
Reading this now has me wondering.

What controls the amount of lift? The injector body? or the nozzle/needle?

Help!

Thank you,
Matthew
