I had a 300TDi fitted to my Defender / Series 3 Hybrid by a friend a few weeks back. I have the snorkel and air filter on the passenger side and I have noticed the top of the air filer has a bad 90Deg bend on the rubber hose that goes to the engine and it is also fouling the bonnet.
Is this the correct place for it?

Since the bodywork is from a Ninety, I'm really looking for some idea or photo of a 300TDi engine bay especially showing where the air filter should go?

The top pipe from the intercooler is touching the top of the air filter as well so will make air filter replacement more difficult. Should the air filter be on the drivers side or is there a rubber hose with a 90Deg bend available if I keep it on passenger side?
Thanks

On the 300 defender the air filter is mounted over the right side of the engine.
Have a look at pics of 300tdi for sale on ebay at the underbonnet pic.

Good idea, why didn't I think of that :)

Ok seems my air filter is on right side but is different to all the ones in the pictures, it's a bit of a bodge so I guess I gotta make it work the way it is. Thanks again bud.
