Hi Just changed my timing belt. I noticed when i set it up with the marks and the pins that although the fuel pump, cam and crank where all bank on the fly wheel at the back was slightly out and could not put the pin in. I find it strange that everything was fine at the front so i turned it by had (loads of time) and touch wood has been fine anybody have any idea about this? Thanks

It was set up to TDC i could see the groove in the flywheel but it was just out enought to not get the pin in, everything else on the front lined up bang on.

No yu didn't.
Why do yu think there is a slot in the flywheel? So yu can lock it to TDC! Then set the front up.

lock the fly wheel then set up the front? if the fly wheel is locked how do you then set everything else up? Do you mean go by the fly wheel first and ignor the front timng marks? I find it strange that everythig was perfect on the front, i also noticed that there are two different grooves in the fly wheel slightly diff sizes.

flywheel fits lots of landy 4 cylinder engines often have several slots ,you often have to use front mark to get right slot as has been said if you can use pin then align other marks
