Hi Folks,

I have a 97 Plate 300 tdi with window woes, let me begin!

I had intermittent window operation for a while when they finally gave up with the rear windows stuck down. After some googling and research everything pointed to the window lift PCB and sure enough there was the burning on the board with said dry joint. Solder joint remade, PCB refitted and hey presto the rear windows went back up. In celebration I lowered the front windows and now all the windows have stopped working!!!!! By coincidence or as a clue? the heater blower has also given up.

I have managed to get the front windows back up by stripping the door panels and applying 12v direct to the window motors.

I have swapped the lift PCB for a known working one to no avail too

I have checked all the fuses under the bonnet and the main and satellite boards under the dash. Is there another component common to the windows and heater motor?

As an aside there is a stray female multi pin connecter plug ( about 12 pin) that looks like it might be a connecter for an OBD tool behind the glovebox next to the Window lift PCB housing I can't find a home for if it isn't an OBD plug.

The car is in Portugal and gettin 'kin hot inside with the windows stuck up and unable to blow any air around!

Heeeeeelp!

As for the connector do you have a green security ECU behind the glove box? as D1s done have OBD.
