Hi,
Last night got my hands on thermal imaging camera.
Did some pics of my 300 after 30 mile trip.

That could be a wonderfully useful diagnostic tool .. whereabouts are you?

I have access to it in Basingstoke. Only night shift after 10pm.
Did those pic's as I have hot oil dash lamp on when I start. Then it goes on and off on the way.
Right now it's clear - switch (I hope).

Damn .. bit far from me, and nothing wrong to diagnose, but brilliant and very interesting pictures .. thanks for posting them! ;)

Interesting. I had quite a lot to do with these toys when I was in the Army. We were testing one one day, and at 300m we could tell that a FV432 moving across the field had a road wheel bearing that was running hot. Good fun.

If you require any particular bit to be pictured then let me know. I see what I can do.

Not really, just thinking that a thermal camera could make some 'guesses' at what's wrong easier to solve .. like diffs getting hot, wheel bearings, hubs, brakes etc. I'd guess they're pretty expensive though ..

They're good fun & interesting - I've borrowed one from work to look at house heating & hot water system.
You can see hwere hot water pipes run under the floor etc.

Completely unrelated to landie, but never mind!

One of the party tricks that impresses the kids is to walk across the floor in bare feet and then show them your heat signature on the floor. Brownie points for dad!
