I've jut posted pretty much the same question! The top rad hoses from def to disco are different part numbers too which might just explain why my engines looking so close to the rad after the conversion.
I'm hoping someone's gonna say that the engine sits slightly closer in a defender than it does in a disco...

looking at this pic it is closer in a defender,this is a disco and its further forward
