after some advise please.
ok i have issues with oil pressure when hot.
ive changed the oil and filter.
ive changed the oil pressure sender.
but if this doesnt cure my fault im thinking the pump will need looking at.
question,
the sump needs to come off, can i access the pump gear and pressure relief without taking the timing cover off, which could be a right balls ache
thanks in advance guys

300 timing cover isn't too bad a job unless it is in a custom install, hardest bit is the crank pulley nut but that is still manageable. Low oil pressure can be a number of things rather than just the pump, could just be a worn engine (big, main or cam bearings) or wrong spec oil. How many miles on it as some 300's are really clocking up the miles, also have you tried measuring it with a gauge, if so what sort of reading are you getting (hot & cold)

If you want to swap the pump then it is front cover off. Although as most people remark, the pump is a massive unit thats well over specced and the problem is likley to be elsewhere. It is possible to do the pressure releif valve from inside the sump though and the plunger and springs are not expensive.
