having a small problem with my oil warning light comming on this is my first land rover i'm reasonable with a spanner but don't know much about these so

when engine cold stays off

when warm and revs above approx 900 its ok

as soon as the engine is warm and revs drop to just tickover the bloody light comes on

do i have a big problem changed the oil recently and due to small leak around the oil pressure switch..... hope thats waht it is just above and to the right of the oil filter gave that a little tweek.

any help please as this is annoying

If yu can - get the oil pressure checked - if not then change the sensor then see if it makes a difference.

this has come up on numerous forums.#
First and cheapest is to change oil pressure switch, not a difficult job.
Had the same 3 years ago, changed switch, no problems to date.

thanx, just ordered oil pressure switch less than £6 with postage.......... with my luck it won't be this cheap, o well fingers and all other bits crossed

Well it looks good new oil pressue switch fitted on saturday and upto yet no light comming on
