Hi all,
I'm a total new comer to the veg oil thing and have read a few posts but am still a little confused so would like an 'idiots guide' please.
1. Can I just go into Asda and buy regular veg oil? If so what sort is best and what to avoid? (Any tips on the cheapest ;0))
2. Can it be just poured straight into the fuel tank on top of diesel?
3. What amounts can I use ? Say 3/4 tank diesel 1/4 veg oil or 1/2 - 1/2 ?
4. Is there any long term affects on the engine or extra service items?
5. Are there any performance issues/improvements.
6. Any other things I need to know ? In simple terms :0)

Thanks again
Andy

Before anyone less forgiving than me turns up..........

Do a search and you will find COUNTLESS threads answering all of your questions, After that if you have any more questions, do another search.

with this cold weather on its way make sure you use a 50/50 with diesel or else you are going to run into trouble.Only use pure vegetable oil such as rapeseed and you will be fine. Some people say they have slight power gains but you will notice that the engine is quieter and seems to run smoother.Only downside is that it stinks!

Thanks Colinl, I'm planning on just topping up a 3/4 diesel fill at first to see how it goes but want to make sure I buy the right stuff and not use something that will bugger it up !
I have read quite a few threads but some seem to contradict themselves and others use abbreviations, it's my first time trying this and I want to get it right, I'm just a little nervous but want to make some savings if I can.
Cheers
Andy
