Scroll down to post #5. Post 5 is a long way down the thread because SaintV8 posted a lot of pictures in his first post which was a how to timing belt change.

Sorry it's the bracing tool to stop the pulley turning so I can crack the bolt
i knew that ,but with that type tool you dont need one, i use them as you cant get an impact gun in with engine sat against the rad, that type tool does the same job,but uses your hammer to crack the bolt

As per: ( I know it says 200tdi, but the dims are the same....although the 300tdi pulley isn't as deep!)

Hiya mate. Howya doing? Hope you're well :)
I am well, life is busy with now 2 kids, new job, a house move and a wedding to go through, but we will get there.

I see you rebuild thread is still going, haven't looked in as much as i would have liked, but I hope ll is well with yourself and the big red beasty.

Wow, it doesn't get any busier than that! All sounds great though! Always good to remember that on your wedding day everyone just wants you to have a great time. They're not expecting a great speech, so long as you look happy, have a smile on your face and thank them all. That's a great speech.
Aye, the engine rebuild has been ongoing due to the mysterious oil burning. Might have it sussed now though!
Great to hear from you :)

Socket fits on square and placed on bolt with the short bar horizontal. The long bar is held vertical and hammer worked. There are other way's to free crank bolt.
