Well, pondering over stuff whilst suffering from the flu, n stuff I shuld be out doin on the bobtail.

I replaced the heads and put some composite head gaskets on a while ago. Hasn't had a problem only got very warm and miss-fired, but due to a blocked radiator which has now been replaced. Think the misfire was due to the engine getting too hot...OR, should I retorque the head bolts.

Loads on the net of people saying have the ali engine warm up and cool down then re torque, particularly as they are not stretch bolts.
Others say don't bother...and there's nothing in my reference manuals.

I'm not seeing any issues with the engine since replacing the rad (other than an unreliable starter motor, which is gonna be sorted asap)...but would it hurt me just checking/re torquing those head bolts anyways?
Or, should I just leave the hell alone 'til I break it again:eek:

What's the common thought regarding re-torque of head bolts ?

if there not stretch bolts just test each bolt center out with torque wrench set to max for bolts ,also check inlet manifold bolts in same way center out
