Hi all, I have a 3.9 V8 manual Disco that will eventually be my modified trialer. I want to convert this to an auto, I'm told that there are differences in the cranks and spigot shafts,is this so?

So, is it possible to put an auto box (ZF) onto my manual engine?

engines are all the same just remove flywheel spigot bush etc and fit drive plate boss assembly for auto , fit drive plate using shims so its distance from rear of engine face to rear face of plate is 1-3mm less than depth of torque converter securing thread block from edge of bellhousing

Thanks James, very helpful.
