I'd usually agree with you but from all I can read, the tdv8 seems to be a pretty damn good engine.Obviously the petrol![]()

3.6 is a pile of shít.I'd usually agree with you but from all I can read, the tdv8 seems to be a pretty damn good engine.
3.6 is a pile of shít.
The 4.4 however is a damn sight better and actually rather robust..
Turbo's I believe, something about the oil feed or return pipes clogging up due to the proximity to the exhausts**** in what sense? Just slow or had problems?
Hmm, okay, haven't seen that one. Need to dig further!Turbo's I believe, something about the oil feed or return pipes clogging up due to the proximity to the exhausts
Turbos**** in what sense? Just slow or had problems?
Turbos
EGRs
Headgaskets
Intercooler hoses
take your pick Turbos are £1000 each and nearly the same in labour for EACH!
And if the motor has over 80k on it without any receipts for a turbo replacement expect to save up for the nightmare.
To redo the EGRs the majority of the top end has to be removed and they do fail and are around £700 for replacement.
And Headgaskets are starting to rear their ugly heads
4.4 is superior, not even worth looking at the 3.6 it is a good paperweight...
Not had a 4.4 TDV8 in the garage that had an engine issue mainly rust and electrics failing. Thanks 'enry. What are the bad points for the 4.4 then?
