Ok I'm 99% sure the head gaskets are knackered in the rangie. It's supposedly had them done recently but I think they're gone again. Assuming they don't skim the heads...
It drinks both water and oil and is an absolute bitch to start, cranks for ages before spluttering and starting (assuming that's because it's low on compression) Today I stopped it and the water was bubbling for about 5 mins and smoke came out the oil filler cap. No oil in water or vice versa. Clouds of white smoke when cold though.
I'm building up a new chassis for it with a 300tdi, but it's my daily transport until then, so I really can't be arsed doing the heads for a max of 2 months use. It's getting turned into a coffee table after anyway its done my head in that much.
Will it survive with just putting more oil and water in regularly?
