How are you
I have a 3.5 v8 with a prefix starting 17g
9.35.1 c/r
Strange as to from which vehicle it came
Couldn't find a single answer jn my research any idea as from what model or year it came from

regards

Interesting as to the best of my knowledge RV8 engine codes only go up to D.
The higher 9.35 CR would indicate a RR/Disco I would imagine.

Others here will probably come up with answers.

Thanks for your reply
Sometimes it is stated as a 110/90 engine in some parts catalogue
But most are a 15g then a 19g in the lists of engine numbers for the defender
As you have stated the compression ratio is strange too for a 110/90 or defender
Hope someone familiar can give us an answer to this

thanks a lot for your reply

Are you sure it's 17G? can't find that prefix in either of these guides.
The only 17x I can see with 9.35:1 are
17D 00001A/B R.Rover 3.5 carb pulsair manual 9.35cr.
17A 00001A SD1 V8S manual 9.35:1cr

Its a 3.5 with stromberg carbs
Prefix 17g with that c/r

I copy pasted that info but the question is the cr is strange for a defender as all ive seen are 8.13.1
