im sure its a straight fit and swap as mine has a series 2 gearbox on a diesel 10j engine (think its series 3) and it works fine appart from no syncro in 1st and 2nd

god bless ya sunshine , i got me fingers and toes crossed for you matehelps if the iva shows its a series 2 according to the points scheme but has had a series 3 shell fitted ( its the arse end result of having its identity and distinguishing features nicked to make a series 3 look like a tax exempt series 2 )
im still waiting for the dvla and vosa to do their thing all they have told me is its deffinately a series 2 but the bodywork is series 3 ish
series 2 bits include chassis axles transfer box gearbox rear tub roof and bonnet
series 3 bits include front grille pannel wings bulkhead dash seatbox and doors
funnily enough the points scheme is leaning towards it being series 2 wich im waiting for the grand desicion from the dvla over this little matter
