so got my self an ebay special (knightmare) 2a
and so it failed its mot on top swivel pin amongst over probs
so rebuilt that and while i was there thought i may aswell do wheel bearings as u do
now dont know y this has happend but everything has tighten up as it should of bearings sat back nice and home in the hub but for some reason i have a gap now between drum and backing plate.
have i been supplied bearings that r to wide ( maybe for a seires 1 or 3 ) has anyone ever heard of this before ????

Are you sure the drums not just catching on the brake shoes? Can be tight to get back on if its catching. Try adjusting the brakes until the shoes are fully off and then try putting the drum on and see if its any easier

it must be something like that, as the shaft end can be seen lining up with the hub as it should, so the only thing out of place is the drum.

adjust the brakes and give it a whack or tighten a wheel nut right on.

does the hub sit right up to back plate have you fitted inner bearing fully

U can still spin the drum fine so it carnt be catching the shoes and u look down the hole of the locking screw that hold the drum on and it's definatly sat right back really confused by this the bearings feel great there's no free play up down left right and spins fine as it should ????

if drums fully on hub ,hub bearings either arent fitted correctly or are snagged on stub axle not allowing hub to sit fully back

Have you tapped the inner races fully into the hub? Presumably you still have the old bearings to compare. You have assembled the stub axle and backplate in the right order, haven't you?

Now we've sorted you out, pop along to the introductions section, say hello, have a read of the stickies and the faqs. There are some rather picky members out there who will shout at you for not doing this. It's a great forum for advice but you need to play by the rules and be thick skinned with it.
