Thinking about doing a 6 cylinder conversion pulling the stock 2.25 litre petrol motor out and putting a 4.1 litre 6 cylinder XE falcon motor in it. Wondering if the stock 4 speed GB will hold up if not im thinking about putting a 5 speed hilux gb in.

unless you drive it very sedatly i very much doubt it would, even putting a slitty GB in would just move the point to failure somewhere else

120HP is the max figure toted around for series Gearbox, Transferbox and drive chain.
But it's torq that will twist off your drive shafts.

tis true, hence why people are taking the turbo off the 200Tdi when fitting them

yeh apparently diffs starting going too but i got to put another motor in anyway cause my stockie has had its dayz now cause itz blowing a fair bit of smoke now.

if your gonna go that far fit an r380 and rangie axles you can convert then to leaf

How dare you be thinking of putting that blue oval monstrosity in your fine truck,whats wrong with a Holden red motor ? ( I've got the "six" badge that came with the conversion kit if its any help.)

But you will only break halfshafts going up that steep hill to Lesmurdie.

If you a are going to fit a six to a LR then fit a hemi, as the ford doesnt like the high revvin all the time , although its better for that than the holden esp the later and bigger capacity holdens. Also with the hemi you havent got the ali head which corodes. If you are in WA (Lesmurdie) then theres a chap who specialises in hemis, in perth cant remember his name at the mo, britparts will know up in Wanneroo HTSH JMHO

yeh i was actually thinking about the hemi conversion cause i drove a lwb ute with a 245 hemi in it and that thing went well. there was a full 6 cyl conversion kit in the quokka that i was gonna buy ecept the guy was in margret river, full kit thoe had bell housing clutch flywheel engine mount adapters motor for 100 bucks and the motor was a 265 hemi, so a lot bigger again.

Does anyone no where i could get the full 202 red motor conversion kit from in perth cause im not really to sure were to get em from.
