sorry if this has been posted before but im really pants with the search function

anyway ive found a 24 spline diff on ebay and i aint got a clue whats in my car

its a defender 90 1985 if any more info is needed please ask

thanks in advance danny

If yours is original, it'll be 10 spline.
You can fit the 24 spline, if you get the matching half shafts and drive members.

thanks its an exmod i assume its original
so do you think its a lot of messing about

its a LSD ive found you see

If it's a decent LSD, it's worth it.
If yer can't be bothered, just send the diff to me!

i guessed that just thought its worth watchin it ends at a rubbish time
ill be keeping my eye on it anyhow

thanks again

me mate sells 24 spline diffs for £60 and 10 spline diffs for £50. they are all good diffs. he also has quite a few PAS boxes + other disco parts if ya looking for one :)

a chop shop :D

na its a mate who used to do a lot of trialing he now breaks a few land rovers and sells mostly to the people who still go to land rover trials/off roading :)

tonks ? f*ckin tonks ? not on your nelly !
expensive place that and def not a place i would use after seeing a defender that only used tonks for the repairs servicing but i wont go into that on a forum !

well yes i won the limited slip diff !
meet me in a layby just off A1 J37 at seven, so off up to other side of doncaster i went and it wasnt a LSD after all !

didnt think he knew that it wasnt, but still had to point out the pinion gears inside and no clutch plates.

well atleast i won it and not someone who wouldnt of noticed as someone already had !
well wasted £20 of diesel and a hour and a half :frown:

not intending to add salt on the wound.........good thing I didn't win it as I stopped when it went past 150 quid.....otherwise, it would be time and diesel wasted on my side...:D

I've got a 1989 Defender 110 2.5TD and am hoping that someone can tell me what sort of axles i have. I would like to buy a ARB diff locker, but i have no idea if i have a 10 or 24 spline shaft or if it is a Salisbury axle. I looked in my Haynes manual, but nothing there.
Could someone please post what years/models are 10 spline, 24 spline, and Salisbury .

front axle as long as its still original will be a 10 spline diff and shafts, rear axle will be a Salisbury with drum brakes
