The higher the sidewall of tyres, the more rolly polly the ride. So if you want larger diameter wheels, but without the wollowing in the corners, then go up in wheel size, and use wider, lower profile tyre to keep the overall diameter to same. That's why I went for 18" wheels, where the improvement in body roll is quite pronounced.
Oh yes, some tyres aren't totally black, but that's due to the mix of rubber and synthetic compounds in there. Yokohama Geolanders are black, but keep in mind they're a bit noisy at speed.
