My Freelander 2 sometimes fails to start,
It's been happening a lot more frequently and it's starting to worry me, it eventually starts but I'm worried it won't one day
I put in the key and let it boot it, put my foot on the break and it clicks, doesn't crank and goes into ACC turning everything else on.
When it first happened, I assumed battery, so I bought a new one, and it continued.
Has anyone had this issue before or have an idea of where I should start?

Hi,

Dirty diesel Freelander 2 with start stop ( you have button to start the car ) ?

Read the fault codes, get the injectors tested …
Find somewhere to put a video ( YouTube ) of the car starting, it’s better than any description.

Hi, thanks for replying,
Yup that's my freelander,
Fault codes don't show anything,
I'll check out testing my injectors,
And naturally as soon as the video camera comes out my car starts fine, I'll film every start from now on to get a decent video

If it’s intermittently not cranking at all, it’s unlikely to be an injector fault.
I’d be looking for a poor electrical connection somewhere, or low voltage.

If it's not cranking over, then the starter is the place to look first.
