Are you 100% it's a 200 and not a 300? I ask as the cross over year for the engine was 1994.

A good quality mineral oil or even a semi synthetic if you're feeling flush, 15/40W is ok but if your's is high miles and there is any blow by then consider a 20/50 grade oil.

I use JCB 15/40 cold climate semi synthetic oil in mine, simply because it's free to me and there is an abundant supply in the yard.

If you are having problems with ordering up a service kit then do it the old fashioned way, pah, I know hey, imagine actually having to crawl under it and wipe off the grime in search of a part number on the oil filter, air filter and fuel filter probably a good idea to take a note of the engine serial number and order it up a cam belt kit too unless you have proof of when it was last done?

Think 300 oil and fuel filters same as the 200, its the air filter that is different.

Basically any half decent oil will do, just remember to change it every 5/6k and not 12k like a recent poster on the defender section.

Ebay Mannol 15/40 in 20 litre tubs is the way to get a decent oil at a decent price.

Something like this, just check the spec and price per litre compared to your local motor factor.
