I'd be interested to see some photos showing this crankshaft pulley/front axle problem that some people are talking about when fitting a 200tdi into a series LR, as I'm planning to do this conversion. As I understand it there are three belt grooves on the pulley - the outer one for the PAS pump, the middle one for the alternator and an inner one for something else. Have I got that right? Where is the front axle fouling the pulley. If it's only on the front end, then could the problem be solved by removing the crankshaft and having the PAS pulley groove machined off on a lathe. Could the bracket for the alternator be altered so that the alternator runs on the inner groove, so that even more of the front pulley could be machined away? I don't want to drop the bump stops on mine because it will limit suspension travel, which is bad enough as standard.
