Hi - Think i have a problem that is getting progressivley worse...
My 200tdi disco engine is burning oil at an alarming rate. I have had to top the oil up about every 400 miles recently and i seem to get more and more blue smoke.
After any period of time at low revs say for example, driving down a green lane if you then go to accelerate as soon as the turbo kicks in i am getting loads of blue smoke from the exhaust. It starts clears after about 10 seconds of hard acceleration but there is still a little bit of smoke whenever the engine is revved. There is no smoke at idle, the air filter is clear, the cyclone breather is working correctly, the head was skimmed and had a new gasket fitted about 2000 miles ago.
I am thinking turbo oil seals because when i removed the pipe into the inlet manifold there was a puddle of oil settled in the joint between pipes.
Does this sound reasonable or is there somthing else it could be.
Any thoughts please
