my dipstick tube has snapped on my 200 auto disco, about half way down.
Where does the other end go and how is it attached?
I want to remove it so I can either replace or repair (although can't seem to find a new one advertised anywhere???)
any help much appreciated

Assuming it's the same as the 300 then the tube goes straight to the front of the gearbox sump but is also secured by one of the bellhousing bolts.

I sheared mine taking it off the sump and it cost me about £120 for a new one from LR dealer 3 years ago. The new one has since snapped half way down right next to the bellhousing bolt.

I had a nightmare getting the bellhousing bolt to line up when I fitted the new on and had to twist and bend the mount. This must have weakened it and the engine vibration caused it to snap. I took it off and welded it back together and it's been fine since.

FTC1609 is or was the part number which may help u find a replacement. For the 300 it's FTC4475

cheers guys :)
managed to get it off, the bolt to the sump wasn't too bad but ended up cutting the bracket off to the bellhousing as could not get it undone.
it had snapped just above the bracket (sounds like a weak spot) so welded it back together and now back on.
