Defender 110 csw 200tdi first registered in 1993 and owned by me since February 2009.
Full length roof rack and ladder to rear, chequer plate to bonnet and wing tops and a winch bumper on the front (no winch).
Since owning the vehicle I can confirm the following work has been carried out on it:-
Bulkhead repairs carried out as soon as purchased and cavities waxoyled on completion
New coil springs all round.
Rear chassis replaced upto the axle.
Homemade cubby box to replace centre front row seat (seat is still about somewhere)
Waxoyl chassis and body cavities (probably at least 3 or 4 times now)
New front axle swivel balls
Brake discs, pads and shoes (the brakes are great)
Braided steel flexible brake hoses
Complete engine rebuild three years ago and only done 3000 miles since then.
Electric fan fitted (viscous is spare)
Doors reskinned in galvanised steel - front and second row
Paintwork blow over
New mud flaps all round
New clutch
New radiator
New heat exchanger
New drive flanges and seals to transfer box (stopped leaks)
Handbrake overhaul
Drivers seat foam replaced
New drop link on steering box
New starter motor and battery in 2017 (brilliant starter every time)
A home made timber bulkhead was installed behind the second row seats to isolate the load space and make it a bit easier to heat in the winter.
It sits on general grabber tyres and all are in excellent condition with many years life left in them yet.
The vehicle is garaged when not in use and is being sold simply because I am not using it enough to justify keeping it.
When I do take it out it drives lovely, brakes really well and in a straight line and feels a lot younger than it is.
What are the negatives? Nothing other than the usual defender things like wipers, door and window seals, etc. I removed the carpets because they were rotten and I prefer it without them. I suppose the bodywork has a few bobbles in it and the spray over was never the best and is wearing a bit in places now too. Given its age it still looks great though. The roof lining sags and could do with sorting out but only if it bothers you.
A good vehicle anyway but an excellent basis for personalising and ,as with all defenders, improving as well.
I’m advertising it here before placing it on ebay and in the local papers.
I want no less than £5,000 for it.
