Although I'm currently driving the disco after selling the series 3 for practicality reason, I'm thinking that eventually when 200 disco falls apart I'd like use the engine without the turbo in a series 3 as well as using the disco axles and the standard series 3 box.

I'm just wondering what kind of performance a 200 Di would give, anyone got any ideas BHP or torque wise? Also MPG an all would be loverly if anyones done it and what kind of experience have you had with the engine?

Cheers guys!!!

I read somewhere that it'll be about the same as a 2.25 petrol but with better economy and should last forever due to there being very little stress on it.

mates just done it and **** its fun, wound the pump up abit and its flying, thats a 200tdi with standed gearbox, and disco diffs. its driven hard but in 3rd it was doing 70, and 100in 4th, like i said the pump is wound and its lost the low range but its quick and comfortable. now that was revving and wouldnt go any further, but is fun

And that's using a 200tdi and series box with standard diffs you say?

Also, how much hassle is it to put disco axles on a series 3? I'd just like the disc brakes and wider track.

It should do about 80MPH on standard diffs and 750 x 16 tyres. Fitting a Disco front axle is a bit of a fiddle by the sound of it because the track rod fouls the leaf springs. They can be made to fit by using long spring shackles.

im building with mates a hybrid at the moment series chassis front custom box section rear for winch mount, with disco axles on leafs, a 3.5 v8 with rangie auto box should be fun. :)

and only using the series box and disco diffs, and getting a ton, amazing did something happen when you got to 88??

4000 is at about 75mph, when you put her all the way your on the engines limit about 5500 and the pumps been fiddled with, talking is pointless she crusers happily at 75mph and still has more for over taking, and you can how up barry boys with long wheel spin starts and she drifts like anything when wet.

Calculate RPM at MPH
