Anyone with a 200tdi fitted managed to install decent sound proofing .
I currently have bitumen flashband + Hardura matting on bulkhead and seat box 10mm thick rubber on floors throughout landrover , floor mats on top of that in front.Foam under the bonnet .
Noise level is still 95db at 50mph.

They're noisy engines, especially at motorway speeds. I've got a substantial amount of soundproofing on mine but its still loud. Just something you get used to

every and any hole also needs to be blocked, footwells need soundproofing all over (soundproof the whole bulkhead up to the bonnet gutter on the engine side) soundproof the bonnet and fit doorseals along the edges of the bonnet sealing it down to the wings

then start on the tunnel underside, both floorplates and all the underside of the tunnel

weight the inside of the door skins, mat the roof and side panels

then you can start thinking about how you're going to do the tub

there's an awful lot of work and material required to quieten down a Series fitted with a 200(T)di, i've done none of it

and run a full fat 200TDI

as my daily

reflected noise off the bare panels make it a whole lot worse, i take the doortops off my 88" truckcab which makes a massive improvement to the noise level by allowing it to escape

If you've fitted sound deadening throughout and stuck pads to the door panels to stop them drumming then I've heard that the Noise Killer lead engine covers really help (not tried it myself as I have the old 2.25 diesel and she's fine with heavy rubber mats in the back and Wrights sound proofing system to the cab) - Think Noisekiller comes at a price, but there website does give some really useful information on what type of soundproofing to use where (see link below)
