Hi Guys

please can someone help me identify the correct RF door lock receiver part number for my 2009 (old trim version, not facelift) L320 HSE 2.7D?

They key fobs are all transmitting 315Mhz ok but the receiver gradually worked less and less until completely conking out.

Since the RF module is burried under the roof lining over the rear driver side seat I would have to dismantle all the trim to just get the part number then wait for the new part to arrive to reassemble it. Would like to do it all in one hit if anyone can help me identify the one I need to buy?

315Mhz? You sure about that, for the UK it should be 433Mhz. Receiver problem could just be a bad connection.

I thought that was a bit weird also since Ofcom UK Band plan shows 315Mhz as falling within this?

235 - 328.6 MHz Radio Astronomy (Secondary)
  • UK10 - Specific details of frequency bands, observatories and protective measures applicable to the radio astronomy service are contained in the document "Space science and meteorology spectrum allocations in the UK".
  • UK223 - The Wiesbaden 1995 agreement (WI95), as revised, applies to the bands 47- 68 MHz, 87.5 - 108 MHz, 174-230 MHz, 230 - 240 MHz and 1452 - 1492 MHz.
  • UK1.4 - Responsibility for assigning frequencies to this Allocation rests with Ofcom for Science and Technologies Facilities Council use. Frequencies in this Allocation are exclusively assigned for civilian use. Further information can be found in the document "Space science and meteorology spectrum allocations in the UK".
Frequency is printed on the key along with FCC regulation code for 315Mhz licence. https://fccid.io/NT8-15K6014CFFTXA Licence is held by Visteon Corporation based in the US https://www.visteon.com/

"License free frequencies are availalbe to be used by anbody withing to use them, the most commonly known include; 315MHz, 433MHz, 868MHz, 915MHz and 2.4GHz. Though they are 'unlicensed' there are still regulations which must be abided by. ... Here in the UK we are able to use 433MHz and 868MHz bands.
You seem to have a NAS specification car.

Not imported, it says 1st registered in UK and the ebay special 3rd party keyfobs I bought coded straight in. It's the black ford type rectangular flickout like this
https://www.abkeys.com/abk-2676-range-rover-vogue-remote-key-3b-hu92-315mhz-nt8-15k6014cfftxa-2002up

finding loads of 433Mhz verse 315Mhz discussions on other forums, looks like Ofcom switched the UK radio frequency band plan over at some point and recommendation is to contact Land Rover with your VIN number for correct part number. it was 315Mhz then switched to 433Mhz towards the end of the L320 production.

Options here for 433Mhz or 315Mhz for the same keyfob model

I don't think 315 Mhz has ever been a licence free frequency in the UK

That is my Japan import mentioned above. Here is a photo of the RF receiver (P38 so located under offside rear trim cover).
Next to the receiver is a key fob for reference.
The FCC number search lists the licence as being granted to Connaught Electronics Ltd in Ireland and confirms 315 MHz.
As a separate but related issue, confirming that the "P38 Spares" code filter (prevents spurious RF from waking up the BeCM and flattening the battery) works fine when fitted between my RF Receiver and the BeCM. Here is a product link:

Just input your VIN into the website below, and the radio frequency assigned will be in the build sheet info. ;) https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/
Thanks for that link it’s seriously handy.

checked vin number and apart from it bringing up picture of a newer model Sport some of the spec was a bit off, says I have rear DVD installed(unless it’s hidden) and also says this

Locking Radio Frequency - 433.92 MHZ frequency (normal) [076DF]

but they key is still transmitting 315MHz and printed with 315MHz under the key flip out?! Wondering if some nice kind exowner switched out the key transmitters/receiver system for the US one at some point after a failure?

Hi

plus 1 as indeed the uk is 433 , apologises asking a daft question but is it just a case that ur central locking isn’t working , if so can tell u to check some wires

Have a D3 and the RRS is very similar

You have checked the actual output frequency with a scope or frequency counter?

hi mate

Hope ur good , that’s a very interesting test to do, must admit haven’t heard that before but know ur extremely knowledgeable along with the others when it comes to electronics

Hi Stuart, hope all is OK. I have a bench test rig for the P38 and other 433Mhz FOBS using a MK1 P38 FOB receiver which will respond to any 433 Mhz (or close) frequency so I can view the FOB output with a scope.
It's possible the OP's FOB is a replacement casing for example and it is actually 433Mhz.

hi mate

yes thks and in the process of trying to find a turbo error on mine , have got all the hoses out and next step I’m going to smoke test the intercooler as there’s signs of oil on the fins each end,

assumed u had a bench test rig , must admit recently got a Curien N2 for xmas , haven’t used it yet , suppose u call it a graphing meter and can use it via my iPad

that’s a good thought that the insides of the fob might be 433 and outside a 315

Pic of this is the Curien N2

hi mate

indeed and looks like it has come at the right time with me trying my best to chase this turbo error , got to go into the ecm which must have well over 100x wires , next step I think will be to bell out the wires between the ECM and turbo actuator to try and find the issue
