I'm not happy with the Avons I had fitted in August 2021 as 3 of them have scrubbed badly on the outside edge. I'm thinking of changing them to a more rugged tyre and other than the GB AT/3s I'm not finding any options except the Davanti Terratoura AT 275/45 R20 that keep cropping up. Bearing in mind I'm currently running 275/40/R20 which are under size compared to the 255/50/R20 I will need to do the spare as well. Has anyone any experience of these Davanti Terratoura, or failing that a reasonable alternative.
Or has anyone fitted the AT/3s to an L322 and can recommend them.

Alignment problem?
 
Alignment has been checked and corrected although it was still within tolerence. We even checked how much the toe angle changed with respect to suspension height.
 
When i bought my 20s same as your profile pic for my td6 they was on rrs size 275/40r20 i fitted 275/45r20 and they was alot nicer and matched up the closest to the original rolling diamater,
Alignment did change between the oem 18s and the 20s due to the 20s being 9in wide

Yes I've read the 275/45r20 are a closer fit to original size I just need to find suitable tyres. Cheers for the reply
 
@stustrong What make of tyres did you fit please? I can get 5 x Pirelli SCORPION ZERO ASIM fitted for £850
They was a set of Minerva Frostrack UHP 275/45 R20 110V XL,
I got 4 that had 6mm of tread for 250 notes, having access to a tyre machine and balancer i just got them locally,
I know a budget move but it wasn't long after my accident so i was living on savings at the time, it had give or take 195k miles on when i fitted them and they was still around 4mm when i got rid at 208,000 6months later,
To be fair to them they was alright no complaints with them in wet or dry but i was also mainly tarmac, had the same tread look as goodyear suv ultra grips, filled the arches nicer then the 275 45 20s,

Now't wrong with saving money, I used to put part worns on my old D1 as I was always skint. With a good promotion, my daughter moving out, and my son working I now have a bit more disposable income. Just can't bring myself to spend £1200 on tyres for a car that's only worth about £4k and don't go very far :)

They were already scrubbed when I got it rechecked, I tried getting a second opinion at a couple of other garages but they wouldn't touch it, just said go back to original garage. We did a few checks watching the toe angle at different suspension heights and it goes from outer limit to inner limit depending on access height or offroad. We recalibrated the suspension as it was sitting a bit high anyway which I think has stopped the scrubbing. The tyres are still legal I'm just not happy with them.

It's not just the front that needs alignment on the complex L322 suspension, it needs a full 4 wheel laser alignment IMO.
Outer edges shouldn't scrub unless there is either an alignment problem or worn bushes unless perhaps you are a real hooligan on corners.

EDIT:- It was a full 4 wheel laser alignment that we did, main issue was the toe angle on the rear which we have now sorted. Oops, I mean the camber not the toe angle.

Unfortunately, not all garages make a good job of alignment. All the bushes need checking first for example.

That or whatever it uses as a centre diff might be locking up more than it should.
 
I only run AT 275/65/18's but the suspension has been raised by 7.5Cm's so to looks a real beast and performs well in the mucky stuff!
