Hi all,

Over the years I've occasionally had ignition problems with the key fob but always resolved with a new battery and/ or pressing the lock/ unlock buttons to reset. However, I have a similar but slightly different problem now.

The doors lock and unlock, the red immobiliser light goes on and off as it is supposed to but the key will not turn in the ignition at all.

Any ideas, potential quick fixes?

have you tried turning the wheel ? is the steering lock engaged?

This can sometimes make it hard to turn the key.

Cheers

The steering lock is now engaged. It was my wife who encountered the problem this morning ( everything fine yesterday) but says the the steering lock wasn't engaged at first, but she locked it whilst trying to turn the key. My first thought was that it might simply be that, but I can't move it at all.

A small spray of electrical contact spray directly into the ignition barrel has done the trick.

Phew! Thanks for the help and support!
