SOLD

LOCATED IN SHETLAND. I will ship it to Aberdeen ferry terminal at my own cost. Buyer to make own arrangements to collect from there. Or, if you'd like a short break in Shetland, I'd be happy to host you and still pay the shipping cost.

In reasonable condition for it's age. Brought up to Shetland 6 years ago from Wales. Was originally a utility vehicle for one of the electric companies so has a heavy duty chassis and a LR Special Vehicles plate. Then it was owned by Whitbread 4x4 and used as a demonstrator for their products. New MOT a couple of days ago. Just had a new exhaust centre and rear section fitted. Runs and drives really nicely. Lots of extras including:

Whitbread 4x4 full external roll cage with integrated roof rack/light bar/spare wheel carrier/rear roof protection bar.

Whitbread 4x4 side step/rock sliders.

Whitbread 4x4 galvanised rear bumper step (doesn't compromise towing capacity).

Masai blind spot windows (heavily tinted).

Boost alloys with Insa Turbo Special track tyres.

Genuine LR galvanised front bumper with soft A bar and big spotlights.

Aluminium chequer plate to front wings, bonnet and rear door.

Bonnet strengthened for standing on to access spare wheel.

VW Bora seats. Very comfy and the drivers side is raised and fitted further back than standard for a better driving position.

ECU remapped by BAS to approx 150bhp.

Centre cubby box.

£7000 or best offer. Available immediately.

Thanks for the comment. So far I've had zero inquiries. It's probably the location that puts people off.

l advertised my pristine 90 XS for what l thought was a fair price and didn't get a single enquiry.
Ended up selling it to a dealer.
But l'm surprised yours hasn't sold as it's not a lot for a clean TD5

Sorry but the rust on hinges and the spot on the wing tell me it hasn’t been cleaned underneath.

do they rust that bad?

But must admit looks a nice one, apart from mentioned.

Maybe peeps can’t see past the rust and understand what it actually is, although I would beware of A pillars and bulkhead, now.
Just being honest sorry:oops:

I've priced it at the bottom end of the range for a TD5 of this age, spec and condition according to the valuations in LRO and LRM. If it was pristine I'd be asking for much more. TBH I won't cry if it doesn't sell, I love it and will just continue to use it. I would add that the climate up here does promote rusting quicker than you'd normally see on mainland vehicles and I do use it for RTV trials with the local club, although this year has pretty much meant we haven't done anything, nor are we likely to. It definitely is NOT a basket case though, and some of those are fetching good money these days.

@bankz: Cheers.

@marjon: I have no problem with your comments. Defenders rust, it's a fact of life. People who know them will know the problem areas. As for the spot on the wing, it's identical on both wings as those are the heads of the bolts that attach the front legs of the cage to the chassis. I could polish away the rust stains on the paint but this ain't no show pony, it earns it's keep.

Ok if they are only bolt heads then I take back most of what I said.
But could still be whats putting peeps off on first look.
