Hi all,

"The wife" has just got herself quite a nice 2004 freebie xei, one of the facelifted models.

Trouble is we didn't get the audio handbook with the car, so I have no idea of what model the stereo is. Also if there's any way we can put a CD changer on there?

I've seen one on ebay - here's the pic of what it looks like.

Any thoughts? I've seen under the drivers seat there's 4 studs and 2 loose plugs, one 2 pin and one 3 pin.

Cheers in advance!

I had the same question with mine - handbook does not mention any connection for a changer and on removing the unit, there is no input for a changer. I think this is because LR gave the choice or option of either the basic unit with a single CD or a very similar unit that takes 5 (I think its 5) CDs - all loaded via the front slot - the only difference is the eject button on the 5 CD model has and extra logo IIRC.

I removed the original unit and fitted a Sony bluetooth system -so much better, all you need is an adpater to take a single DIN unit and comes with a cubby hole box that you fit to fill the gap.

Mantamad's right - the changer option was a 6 disc in dash changer, so no you can't add a changer to this one as far as I know. If you want to change the head unit you can go for a double din unit or buy an adapter kit to allow single din unit.
