Hi folks,

I'm after a bit of advice regarding the above vehicle, which has just turned 95K. We've had the car for 5 or 6yrs now, and all has been well. I have always serviced the car myself and so know what state the underside is in. The bottom of the engine has always been oily, but recently it has started to drip on the driveway. It has never dropped any fluids until now.. The car is not consuming any oil.

From looking at the engine with the top cover off there appears to be an oil leak at the back (closest to the windscreen), which runs down the pipework that operates the clutch. This is then dropping onto the exhaust and burning off. The fluid looks dark, and I'm pretty sure it is oil.. It appears to be coming from the rocker cover area - is the rocker cover gasket a common issue ? Any other likely causes ?

At the front of the engine there appears to be another leak.. The fluid here looks cleaner and I suspect that it may be diesel. I think this is the cause of dripping on the driveway. It appears to be running down through the alternator, then down to the sump.. It is not very obvious where this leak is emanating from. I have spoken with a friend who has the same vehicle which recently had to have part of the fuel line replaced and there was also mention of the seals failing on the pressure regulator. Can someone point me in the right direction regarding where the most likely causes of this leak would be, and what parts would be required to repair it.

I have photos of the underside if anyone wants to see them ?

Thanks.
